Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend to many passed away, Friday, October 23, 1998, in Salt Lake City of natural causes.

He was the son of Seth Guernsey Johnson and Emma Eliza Allcock Johnson. Married Mable A. Ashley Johnson on July 16, 1935. To them was born 13 children. Fred attended school at West Jr. High in Salt Lake City. He later took engineering classes at the University of Utah.

He worked in 1937 at the State Tax Commission, then he worked for the State Engineers Dept. at the State Capital Bldg. for several years. Then in 1942 Fred took a job as Supervisor at Kaiser Shipyard #3 in Richmond, CA, until 1943 when he accepted a position as Superintendent for D.P.C. in Dragerton, Utah. He was also a mechanic for U. S . Steel Corp. at Horse Canyon Mines in Dragerton. Fred was then appointed Fire Chief and Deputy Sheriff of Dragerton, UT. In 1957 Fred went to work for Kaiser Hospital in Dragerton, then in 1963 he was transferred to Bldg. and Ground Superintendent for Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, CA, for 15 years until he retired in April of 1978. Then he and his family moved to Taylorsville, Utah.

Survived by: loving wife, Mable; 12 children; 39 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by parents and one son, Fred C. Johnson Jr. in 1984.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the South Ridge Ward, ( 4232 W . 5015 S .). Friends and family may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., at Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 S . Redwood Rd.), and one hour prior at the church on Tuesday. Interment following service at Redwood.
