Marie Elaine Adshade, age 57 of Springhill, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late George and Jean (King) Bird.
Marie was an active member of the Crossroads Gospel Temple. She enjoyed working with the residents at the Hillcrest Nursing Home and she loved her dog Rascal. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all who had the joy of meeting her.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Sherman, Springhill, daughter Lisa King (Christopher Green), Drayton, ON; step-sons, Tim (Cathy), Calgary, Paul (Deborah), Dieppe, NB; step-daughters, Cindy (Carlisle) Brown, Springhill, Angela Gilroy (Darren Dowe), Parrsboro; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Betty (George) Blenkhorn, Southampton; 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by her brother Carman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Service, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) from where visitations will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 2 pm, Pastor Mitchell Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mapleton Cemetery.
