He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Kubitz of Waukon, Iowa, on October 24, 1953, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. To this union two daughters, Colleen and Connie, were born. They lived and farmed in the Monona and Postville area until selling their farm and moving to Postville in 1989.
Terry and Betty enjoyed a lot of traveling which included many bus and amtrak trips. They were great fans of the Cubs and Bulls. They were also members of the St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Postville, Iowa. Their love of music took them to many evenings of dancing. His "retirement" brought him many happy hours working for area farmers and Sweeney Auction of Waukon.
Terry held the office of the "President of Grand Meadow Township." His gift of "GAB" brought him many countless hours of endless friendships. He valued a good laugh and had a way of telling a story that one would never forget. His love for his grandchildren was endless and they always brought a smile to his face.
