Oscar Schmidtke, 75, of Kasson, Minn., died Tuesday at St. Mary Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
He was born July 22, 1906, in the Town of Eaton (Manitowoc County), a son of the late Rudolph and Wilhelmina Stann Schmidtke.
Mr. Schmidtke, also known as “Red,” was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was employed as a hired farm worker on the Floyd Brill farm, near Pipe, from 1959 to 1964. He later worked in the Greenbush area, and for the past 13 years, she worked in Kasson.
There are no immediate survivors. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Monday until the time of services. Burial will be in Uecker Road Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
