Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational Church in Marseilles with the Rev. Betty Hornback officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles.
She was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Marseilles, to Nick and Connie (Hittle) Nilsen. In 1948, she married Donald Linton of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a graduate of Marseilles High School, class of 1944, and graduated from Ryburn King School of Nursing in Ottawa as a registered nurse. She was a nurse for the Marseilles Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years.
She was a member of First Congregational Church and its Ladies Auxiliary and Altar Committee, and also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She taught Sunday school and was Neighborhood Chairman of Trailways Girl Scouts.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy Jo Linton of Marseilles; four sons, Robin (Marie) and Craig, both of Marseilles, David (Dr. Sheilia Goodwin) of Winston Salem, N.C., and Alan (Kathleen) of Kaneohe, Hawaii; 12 grandchildren, Eric and Jeff Heermann, Jennifer Rieuf, Shantel Hanlon, Wesley, Matthew, Brittany, Melanie, Kailani and Sirena Linton, Katrina Metille and Heather Bayer; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Bette (Jerry) Simmons of Anaheim, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Bruce (Chris) Linton of Lawrence, Kan.; and two cousins, Beverly Meyer of New Port Richey, Fla., and Karl Hill of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Mary Ann Heermann-Smith; and two granddaughters, Brandi Lynn and Alison Marie Linton.
