George (Bill) and Alice Elsey Weiser lived and farmed around Mercer for thirty years. Alice Elsey Weiser was the daughter of Lewis and Ellen Elsey. She was one of ten children. She was born at Weatherby, Missouri.

George (Bill) was the son of Christian and Engelina Weiser. He was one of eight children. He was born at Allentown, Pennsylvania. George's father and mother died when he was a young boy. At the age of twelve he migrated west ending in Weatherby, MO. He and Alice were married January 2, 1898, at Old Victory by Reverend Stone. They lived at Weatherby three years - then moved to Ohio for about five years. They then moved to Mercer where they lived and farmed for about thirty years. In later life they moved into town where they lived until their death. Alice died at her home December 14, 1952 and George died May 14, 1956; both are buried at Early cemetery.

George and Alice had two daughters and an infant son that died at five months.
