Daughter of Alexander SANFORD/(Mary ADAMS - maybe not)
The wife of Dr John Emerson, the original owner of Dred Scott. She, his widow, is the "Emerson" in Scott vs Emerson proceedings which later turned into the Supreme Court Scott vs Sandford (mis-spelled by a clerk and never corrected - the Sanford referred to is her brother, John F.A. Sanford) known as the abominable and historically embarrassing "Dred Scott decision".
