Corrie was born October 28, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arie and Anna (Hofman) VanTussenbroek. She grew up in the Salt Lake City area and graduated from South High School.
She married her high school sweetheart, Douglas S. Terry, on October 28, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of two boys and four girls.
While as a homemaker, she was an employee of ZCMI for seventeen years. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Among her various callings her favorites were primary teacher, librarian, and visiting teacher.
Corrie loved decorating for the holidays, spring flowers, BYU football, family activities, taking pictures and putting together family albums, making family quilts, and was known for her delicious cakes, cookies, and fantastic fudge.
Her greatest interest and love was her family. She would always say that her children were the jewels in her crown. She was truly the perfect wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. Her home was a place of cleanliness, peace, joy, and love. She exemplified every principle she ever taught for which her family will be eternally grateful.
Corrie will be missed by her loving and supportive husband, Doug; her children: Douglas (Sue) Terry, Van (Lori) Terry, Ann (Andy) Moore, Carolyn (Bryan) Butterfield, Colleen Terry, Corrie (Robert) Christiansen; her seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings Nellie Robbins, Sophia Anderson and Adrian VanTussenbroek. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, UT, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Saratoga Springs Stake Center, 587 South Saratoga Springs Road (700 East), Saratoga Springs, UT, with a viewing that morning from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East).
