Twin son of Benjamin & Ruth (Conant) Woodbury. His twin brother being Bartholomew. In the hand written birth records and the Vital Records of Sutton to the end of the year 1849, the surname is spelled Woodbery and the date of birth is Nov. 10, 1740. In the Woodbury family genealogy section of the History of Sutton, 1704-1876, Page 751, is written "b. Nov. 10, 1740 or, according to the new style, as recorded in his family Bible, Nov. 25, 1740".

He and Hannah Dudley married in Sutton on December 8, 1762.

Revolutionary War Veteran. Image of his service records extracted from Vol. 17 of Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution is posted with the photographs.

Also written on Pg. 741 of the History of Sutton is "served as captain in the revolution, and afterwards held command as colonel of the militia". No record has yet been found to identify which regiment.

Served as representative to the State legislature 1788 - 1791 and again 1798 - 1800.
