Mary Lou Johnson, 49, Ozark, passed away at 3:01 p.m. Monday September 16, 1996 in her home following a long illness. Mary Lou was born September 18, 1946 in Springfield, the daughter of Clell and Angie Tindle Garrison.
She was a life-long resident of Christian County, having lived in Linden and Ozark. She was a 1964 graduate of Sparta High School, and also graduated from the Hillcrest School of Cosmetology. She had a love for people and a love for the profession as a hair dresser, owning and operating her own salon for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson on Oct. 2, 1964 in Sparta. To this union was born a daughter, Tara Johnson.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, and daughter Tara, of the home, a sister and her husband, Jane and Jerry Dye, Ozark, a brother and his wife, Bob and Sue Garrison, Cassville, five nieces one nephew, and one great nephew.
Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday Sept. 19, 1996 in Harris a Hertiage Funeral Home, Ozark, with the Rev. Darrell Hinds officiating.
Burial will follow in the Selmore Cemetery.
