Sarah McKoy Greenwood, age 94 of Douglasville, GA, passed away, Wednesday, February 27, 2008. She was born September 19, 1913 in Chatooga County, Lyerly, GA, the daughter of the late Thad McKoy and Lena Shamblin McKoy.

She was noted as the first woman in Douglas County and the State of Georgia to hold public office as a Clerk of the Superior Court, a Methodist by faith and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 55 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Greenwood. Sarah is survived by a host of friends and caregivers.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville, with Rev. Charles Gibbs, Wes Tallon, Communications and Community Relations Director of Douglas County, and members of The Order of the Eastern Star, officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglasville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 5-7PM at Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville, and Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour.
