Mrs. Mary S. Kirk filed in the office of the circuit clerk Tuesday a bill for a divorce from her husband, Orlando T. Kirk. She alleges that she was married to Mr. Kirk on March 6, 1883, and lived with him until Dec. 26, 1897, when he deserted her. The couple have seven children and the wife asks the custody of the children and also stated that her husband is engaged in a telephone supply business of great value and that he is able to furnish them support.
Kirk is the man who was found guilty of forgery when on trial in the circuit court. He is now in jail pending the hearing on a motion for a new trial. It as also discovered that Kirk was arrested and brought to this city that he had another wife in Michigan. These facts were not mentioned in the bill for divorce, the grounds given being simply desertion.
