She was married to Claud Victor Meechan (1895-1954) on Aug 9, 1916 at Big Wash Post Office in Garrison, Millard, Utah.

Her parents are Wilbert Franklin Fowler and Lura Delilah (Robison) Fowler.

Elsie was child number 5 of 8. She had 3 older sisters; Laura Blanche, who died in infancy, Ethel May, and Grace Darling. She had one older brother, William Henry Fowler, who died in the service of Pneumonia during World War II. Elsie also had 2 younger sisters; Laura Hazel, and Mary Alena, and one younger brother, Elmer Elsworth. Elsie may have been named after her mother's sister, Elsie Rosetta Robison Gonder. Her middle name comes from the special day that she was born on, Valentines Day.

After Claud died, Elsie moved down to the Snow Hotel Apartments (across from the Tabernacle in St. George). She never drove; her kids had to take her everywhere she needed to go. Elsie Valentine Fowler Meecham died on the 28th of Feb. 1960. Fourteen days after her 60th Birthday. She always suffered from heart trouble, mainly Congestive Heart Failure.
She was buried on the 2nd day of March, 1960, on the South side of the St. George cemetery, next to her husband and two infant children.
