Assigned to PBR-708, RVN River Patrol Group 59, Naval Advisory Group, United States Naval Forces-Vietnam.
Arrived "in country" on 9-15-1969 and died in Binh Thuy Province, South Vietnam while missing in action, and his body was later re-covered.

Polk – Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Warnick of Polk received word that their son, eng. 3-c Leonard C. Warnick Jr., 21 died in Vietnam.
Engineer Warnick had been listed as missing in action since June 1 when he was thrown from a riverboat. His body was recovered June 10.
Following arrival of the body from Vietnam, funeral services will be held at St. Vincent Catholic Church at Osceola. Rosary and burial will be in Polk.
Vincent was born Jan. 14, 1949, at an Osceola hospital.

Warnick, Leonard C. Services- Funeral services for Engineer 3rd Class Leonard C. Warnick, 21, Polk, who was killed in Vietnam will take place Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Osceola with burial in Polk. Prayer service will be tonight at 8 p.m. at the Wall Funeral Home in Polk.
