He was born in Elkland, Pa. and had resided in the Hoornell and Canisteo area all his life. He was a carpenter by trade, retireing in 1961. He served with the U.S. Army during World War 1
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Smith of Hornell; one sister, Mrs. Isabelle Brown of Hornell; one grandson, Eugene Smith of Hornell; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at teh Robertson Funeral Home in Hornell from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday where a funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Carlos W. Mooney officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
