Dr. Thompson is considered to be the first M.D. to practice in the Ind.Territory; he was the doctor accompanying the Cherokee wagon trains in the 49'ers gold rush to Calif.where he had to start a Cholera camp for many; (Wm.Goss died; Brice Martin died ;his brother Gabriel Martin had already died at Donner Spring) Husb. of Mary Jane Taylor.
