Cooley's gives conflicting info about which Amos Hart married a daughter of Capt. Timothy Titus. It does not appear to be THIS Amos Hart...read on....
Cooleys (p. 97) say that Amos, son of Joseph and Frances (Phillips) Hart, married Mary, daughter of Capt.Timothy Titus. Then on p. 103 they show Amos, son of Andrew and Elizabeth(Ege) Hart as marrying Hannah, daughter of Capt. Timothy Titus.

From a HART family researcher:
Amos[5] Hart II, b. 17 July 1776, 6th child/6th son of Joseph[4] and Frances (Phillips) Hart, m. 1] 21 September 1797, Ruth Stout; not Mary Titus.
(Mary Titus was the wife of Josiah[4] Hart, son of Ralph[3] and Sarah (Furman) Hart.)

Ruth Stout, b. 16 February 1780, daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Stout) (Morgan) Stout. In April 1816 Amos[5] II and Ruth removed to "the lake country"
(Finger Lakes area) of New York--McLean, Tompkins County. They had 12 children.

Ruth d. 7 May 1840 in McLean.

Amos[5] II m. 2] 19 February 1843, Hannah (Hill)
Sutphen/ Sutphin, b. 15 July 1785, widow of William Sutphin. Hannah (Hill) (Sutphin) Hart d. 24 June 1859 in Groton Township, Tompkins County. No children
from this second marriage. Amos[5] Hart II d. 30 August 1863 in McLean. He and
both wives are buried in the McLean Old Baptist Cemetery.

The Stout family genealogy does not list any Hannah Hill, Hannah (Hill) Stout, Hannah (Hill) Sutphin--or any other combination of those surnames. We have no idea re
which Hill family she may have belonged to, or who her parents were.

Deacon of the Church.

Son Andrew Stout Hart born Dec 10 1804 died June 17 1891 buried in Hillside Cemetery, Allegan, Michigan with his wife Florina Whipple.

Other issue - Son Andrew Stout Hart born March 04 1798 died Sept 23 1800, and an unnamed female born and died January 08 1814.

Brother of Aaron and of Timothy (buried here as well).

Inscription

Amos Hart had the designation Dea.Amos Hart (deacon?) on his side of this tall stone. It had a Holy Bible made into the top of the stone above his name and this engraved just below the Bible " Children, if in this book you put your trust, A place you shall have among the just."
