~OBITUARY OF MRS. IDA LILLY

Mrs. Ida LILLY, Ochiltree county pioneer, died at her home in Perryton Wednesday. She was 88 years old and has been a resident of Perryton and Ochiltree county since 1904.

Mrs. LILLY and her husband arrived here from Elk City, Oklahoma, and resided on a farm about two miles north of what later became the site of Perryton. The pair moved into the city in 1918.

Mr. and Mrs. LILLY operated the first store in this area. The building occupied the site of the present Bryan Food Store.

Mrs. LILLY was a member of the Methodist Church. She had been in poor health the last year.

Funeral Services have been tentatively set for 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Full Gospel Church here.

Survivors include four sons, W. B. of Durant, Oklahoma, George of Bell, California, and Sam J. of Spearman and Joe LILLY of Olathe, Colorado; five daughters, Mrs. Hattie NEWMAN and Mrs. Alice MORRIS, both of Perryton; Mrs. R. H. McCLUNG of Dalhart; Mrs. Arthur SELBY of Hermiston, Oregon; Mrs. Jennie EVANS, Perryton; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Friday afternoon in the Full Gospel church for Mrs. Ida LILLY, Ochiltree County pioneer, who died at her home in Perryton on Wednesday, November 08.

Mrs. LILLY and her husband, the late W. E. LILLY, moved from Chillicothe, Missouri, to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1900 and came to Ochiltree County in 1904 by covered wagon. They lived on a farm two miles north of Perryton until 1919, when they moved to Perryton and operated a store at the corner where the Bryan Food Store is now located.

She was born October 31, 1862, at West Morland, Pennsylvania, to Mr. and Mrs. S. W. BEAZELL and was 88 years and 8 days of age when she passed away.

At the age of 14 years, she united with the Methodist Church. On December 6, 1883, she was married to William E. LILLY, and to this union ten children were born, nine of whom are living.

The children include, Mrs. Hattie NEWMAN, Mrs. Alice MORRIS, and Mrs. Jennie EVANS, all of Perryton; W. B. LILLY, Durant Oklahoma; George LILLY, Bell, California Sam LILLY, Spearman; Mrs. Ellen McCLUNG, Dalhart; Mrs. Daisy SELBY, Hermiston, Oregon; Joe LILLY, Olathe, Colorado.

All of the children were present for the Funeral Services except two, George and Daisy.

Pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Irvin LILLY, Granville LILLY, Willis Neal LILLY, Lavaughn EVANS, Daniel NEWMAN and Nathan NEWMAN.
