Edna May Decker, a lifelong resident of Wurtsboro, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. She was 89.

The daughter of the late Lewis E. Decker and Jennie Wilkinson Decker, she was born June 25, 1920 in Wurtsboro.

She is survived by a niece, Rose Schwalb & her husband, Bob of Wappingers Falls; a nephew, Richard Shiffer & his wife, Bonnie of Woodlawn, TX; and several great nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Decker Shiffer and two nephews, Howard and Edward Shiffer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1, from 9-11 a.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the Community Church of Wurtsboro, Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, with Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
