John Edgar Allen, 79, of 1208 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY died Thursday, September 1, 1955. Mr. Allen's death was attributed to coronary thrombosis. Born in Forest City, Pa., October 29, 1875, he was a son of Charles and Lucretia Allen. At one time he resided in Lakeville, Conn., but had been a resident of Binghamton for the past 10 years. He was a retired Endicott-Johnson employee. At Lake Como, Pa., on April 25, 1898, he was united in marriage to Maud Loomis who survives. Other survivors are a son, Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Lang and Mrs. Esther Boylan of Starrucca , Pa.; a brother, Luman, of Lakewood; a granddaughter; four stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The body was removed to the Mumford Funeral Home, Starrucca. Services were held there Monday at 2 p. m. The Rev. F. Porter Adams, pastor of the Nimmonsburg Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the cemetery at Shehawken, Pa. Bearers were Walter Sanford, Glenn Boylan, Thurston Smith, Ralph Allen, Marion Morris and Walter Owen.
