The early years of his life were spent in the Birmingham community and the later years around Hedrick. The last year of his life he lived near Eldon, Iowa. During his entire life he engaged in farming.
He was united in marriage to Iva Marie Wells of What Cheer, Iowa, February 25, 1925. To this union three children were born. They are Mrs. Dallas Cunningham of Ottumwa rural route seven; Mrs. Harold Roquet of Hedrick rural route two; and Billy Catcott of Eldon, rural route one.
Besides his wife and three children, he leaves his mother Mrs. Nancy Catcott of Birmingham and one brother, Glen also of Birmingham. Also four grandchildren, Leslie and Cathy Cunningham and Jackie and Karen Catcott.
Raymond's father preceded him in death five years ago last August.
He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the Union Chapel Christian Union Church.
Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Christian Union Chapel with the Rev. J. W. Garbison and the Rev. Marion Prather in charge. Music was furnished by the Rev. and Mrs. Wayne Caulkins of Milo, Iowa. Burial was make in Brooks cemetery.
