Born on October 4, 1921 and went on his last journey in this life on April 16, 2010.


He was preceded by his father Lorenzo Independence and mother Lillian Webb Taylor; two brothers Ralph (Shady), and Arlo Taylor all of Hinkley, Utah. Also Betty Forbush Dye Taylor, his wife of forty years, and his daughter Janice M. Dye Loveridge. He had also lost three grandsons.


Leaving behind his children: Garry Taylor of Jamestown, CA, Francise Keenan, Wayne Taylor, Rosemary Shipley Taylor and Frankie Webb all of Las Vegas & Pahrump, NV. Van had twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren living in Utah, Nevada, California, Washington, and Hawaii. He also left his sweetheart and companion, Carol Haggerdy and her family Brenda, Dixie, Ralph, Jeff, and her brother Boyce. All of their children and grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed dearly.


Van was a great companion, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who love him.


There will be a family gathering at their family plot in Pleasant Grove, UT. Friends and family can gather at Pleasant Grove Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 for a final tribute.
