MAYNARD L. BEITEL

Maynard L. Beitel, son of Frank and Sophia Beitel, was born March 25, 1882, at Kirkville, Iowa. With his parents Maynard moved to Beacon, Iowa, where he grew to manhood.

He passed from this life January 11, 1948, at his home in Chariton, at the age of 65 years, nine months and 16 days. He had resided in Chariton for 36 years.

On November 30, 1905, he was married to Josie Blakemore, at Beacon.

Having worked in the mines most of his life, he was a member of the U. M. W. A.

He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife, three sisters, Nellie G. Lewis and Grace Whitlatch, of Oskaloosa, Bessie E. Lewis, of Beacon, and two brothers, W. E. Beitel, of Taylorville, Ill., and Omer Beitel, of Mitchell, Neb., and a host of relatives and friends.

Final rites, under the direction of the Zimmerman funeral home in Lovilia, were held Tuesday, January 13, 1948, at the Beardsley funeral home. Elder John Blackstock, of the Latter Day Saints church officiated. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
