Audrey Lavonne Hickman, 72, of Martinsville passed from this life on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:10 PM at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Beech Grove.
She was born on June 22, 1937 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Forrest Miles and Belle Lemo (Martin) Forbes.
She spent most all of her life in Martinsville with the exception of a few years during her childhood in Switz City. She graduated from Switz City High School with the class of 1955.
On August 3, 1958 she married Donald E. Hickman. He survives in Martinsville.
Audrey worked for 19 ½ years in housekeeping at the Morgan Hospital & Medical Center before taking retirement in 1985 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Martinsville. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and having garage sales, and especially spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Don Hickman; three sons, Thomas Dale, Donald E. and Eric S. Hickman all of Martinsville; two brothers, Donald Forbes of Iowa and Oden Fouts of Martinsville and four grandchildren, Breanna and Andy Hickman, Brandon Hacker and James Thomas Gillaspy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Marvin Dale, Roscoe and Thomas Forbes and David Fouts and two sisters, Martha Lou Hack and Wanda Forbes.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 29th from 5-8:00 PM and from 10-11 AM on Friday at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
