Addison and Ida Melissa Nichols, daughter of George Wesley Nichols and Hetty Ann Delong Nichols, were married in Gardener, Grundy County, Illinois, July 10, 1869.
In 1870 the family was living in Perry County, Illinois and by 1880 they resided in St. Paul, Howard County, Nebraska where Addison was employed as a carpenter. Kearney was their home on the 1900 census where they resided the remainder of their lives.
They were the parents of five daughters: Emma Peck of Kearney; Carrie Ann Schwaiger, of Alhambra, California; Gertrude Irene Gass, of Kearney; Florence Augusta Brown, of Frannie, Wyoming; and Nema Hazel Bower, of Douglas Wyoming.
