MRS. JULIA BLACKSHEAR DIES
Widow of D. J. Emmet Blackshear Succumbs After Long Illness.
Mrs. Julia Rogers Blackshear, widow of Dr. J. Emmett Blackshear, who during his life was one of the leading physicians in Macon, died at 6 o'clock last evening, after a long illness.
Mrs. Blackshear was the last of her immediate family. Her father was the ate of George T. Rogers a pioneer resident of Macon, and one of its foremost merchants in the early days of the city.
Eight of Mrs. Blackshear's brothers fought for the Confederacy. They were James Gustavus, C. D., C. H., W. R., George T., R. M., J. F. and Edward Edwin Rogers.
The funeral will be held from the residence of her nephew. W. R. Rogers, Jr., in the old family homestead, No. 375 College street, this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. T. D. Ellis pastor of Mulberry Street Methodist church and Bishop W. N. Ainsworth. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
