Services for Elva N. Lagrone will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Toomsuba Baptist Church with the Revs. Ben James, Jay Cook and Ernie Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Toomsuba Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lagrone, 91, of Toomsuba, died Sunday, January 13, 2002, at Riley Hospital. She was a longtime member of Toomsuba Baptist Church. She spent several years in Birmingham, Ala., but returned to the Toomsuba area in 1957. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Wayne Lagrone and his wife, Elizabeth Ann, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel, and a sister, Gussie Coker, all of Toomsuba; a brother, T.S. Pigford of Collinsville. During her final few months Mrs. Lagrone was cared for by three very special people, Dwayne and Cathy Fisher, and Elaine Malone. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Julia Butler; a brother, Leland Pigford; and her husband, Emmett. The family requests memorials be made to Toomsuba Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tommy Swain, James Coulliette, Mark Conn, Ed Moore, Jimmy Roberson and Tommy Snell.
