Richard Dorphus Knight, 76, of Thomasville, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile.
Mr. Knight was born Oct. 29, 1933 in Thomasville. He was a retired heating and air conditioner technician and was a member of Thomasville Church of God.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Raymond Williams officiating. Burial was in Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville.
Mr. Knight is survived by three sons, Bill Knight of Thomasville, Brent Knight of Nashville, Tenn., Blake Knight of Mobile; five sisters, Hilda Knight of Thomasville, Prunice Todd of Thomasville, Lillian Duke of Durham, N.C., Esther Peel of Leland, Miss. and Olene Hallman of Bay Minette; three brothers, Leonard Knight of Grove Hill, S.M. Knight of Calhoun, Tenn., and J.C. Knight of Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Tennyson Brasell, Jason Pruitt, Blake Knight, Josh Knight, Dewain Knight and Cliff Amos.
Honorary pallbearers were Winston Parden, Leonard Knight, S.M. Knight, J.C. Knight and Roy Hallman.
