H. Angstead Dies At 82
Harold S. "Hal" Angstead, 82, Fairfield Route 4, died Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Angstead was a retired carpenter and builder. Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Berg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Members of the family will be at the funeral home Sunday from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Angstead was born April 10,, 1893 in Fairfield, the son of Hiram and Sarah Lyn Angstead. He was reared and educated in this community. He was married to Nellie E. Knott (sic. Nott) Jan. 14, 1914.
Angstead served on the Fairfield Police Department for a number of years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. James Gustason, Freeport, Ill.; and three sons, Harold S. Jr., Palmdale, Calif., Donald and Bill, both of Fairfield. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one brother, Ray, Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.
