She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Eula Aultman McMichael. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was 72.
Survivors include her husband, Vance Chavis of the home; four daughters, Sandra Sturkie and Carolyn Chavis, both of North, Pamela Walling of Livingston and Cheryl Black of Cordova; three sons, Vance Chavis, Jr. and Danny Chavis, both of North, and Ricky Chavis of Elgin; three sisters, Ruby Jones and Janice Stone, both of Lexington, and Vernelia Cook of Manning; two brothers: Billy Gene McMichael of West Columbia and William McMichael of Tacoma, WA; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
