Iris Elizabeth Johnston Riddle, 85, of Narrows, Va., departed this life for her heavenly home, on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Friendship Manor Health Care in Roanoke. Born in Giles County on October 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Albert Sidney and Elsie Marie Morris Johnston. She was a member and devoted worker at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luther Rufus Riddle; her daughter, Betty R. Hamblin; her grandson, James "JR" Anderson; and her brothers, James L. Johnston and Monk Johnston. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Lois R. Deisher and her husband, George, of Roanoke, and Reda R. Collins and her husband, James, of Roanoke; her nine grandchildren; her 16 greatgrandchildren; her three greatgreatgrandchildren; her one great-great-greatgrandchild; and her sisters, Lucille J. Weikel, of Salem, and Mae J. Mann, of Peterstown, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
