Virgil Lee Brooks Jr., 75, passed away Oct. 8, 2009, in Las Vegas, Clark, NV.

"Brooks" was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Clifton, Bosque, TX and was a resident of Pahrump, Nye, NV for the last 20 years of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a lifetime member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and American Legion. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the construction industry, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 3 and Local 12.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jacqueline Brooks; children Sandy Brooks Doppler of Port Orchard, WA, Richard Brooks of Lakeside, CA, Ronald Brooks of Alpine, CA; siblings Christine Hughes, James Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Gene Brooks and Era Davis of Cleburn, TX; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Leona and daughters Jessica Lee and Dana Brooks.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Oct. 14 at Chief Tecopa Cemetery, Rev. Robert Hunn presiding.
