COLUMBIA, La., Dec. 10. — F. M. Yarborough, who was born in East Feliciana parish, July 22, 1845, died in Columbia at the home of his son, J. D. Yarborough, Saturday morning after a week's illness.

His wife, who before her marriage, was Sarah Byers, died in Caldwell parish 34 years ago.

Mr. Yarborough's parents moved to Caldwell parish before the Civil war. The deceased volunteered as a soldier when he was 17 years old and remained in active service until the end of the war. He was a member of Logan's battalion of heavy artillery at the close of the war, serving under Captain R. D. Bridger.

Mr. Yarborough was a Baptist minister and was in active service of that for a long time but on account of delicate health, he retired from active service some years ago.

The deceased is survived by two sons, J. D. Yarborough, of Columbia, and M. E. Yarborough, of Phoenix, Arizona.

The funeral services were conducted at the home of J. D. Yarborough Sunday morning by Rev. C. B. Gates of Sikes, La., and the body was then convened to Welcome Home cemetery, near Grayson, where interment was made at the noon hour. The service at home and the cemetery were attended by a large assembly of people and the floral decorations were very elaborate.
