His death was registered in Kings Lynn district, Norfolk, England, in the quarter ended June 1944.
It is believed that the flight was carrying out a bombing mission of coastal batteries near Trouville in Normandy, in support of D-Day landings, and crashed on the return.
The squadron was then using Handley Page Halifax (Mark 111) bombers, which normally had a crew of seven.
