Funeral services for Arvel E. Morris, who died last Thursday in San Angelo, were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the China Grove church, with the Rev. J.B. Trent officiating.

Burial was in the Morris Cemetery near China Grove.

Pallbearers were Mick Robertson, J.P. Polk, Jessie Polk, Lambert Polk, Ernest Morris, Leonard Morris, Franklin Morris and Kenneth Morris, all cousins of the deceased.

The Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morris was born on July 18, 1919, at Canton, and was reared in the Walton and China Grove communities.
He attended school in Canton, and his wife, the former Miss Selma Owen, attended school in Athens.

Mr. Morris, a carpenter and veteran of World War II, had resided in San Angelo for the past three years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Jerry Owen Morris, Larry Morris and Dennis Morris, San Angelo; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Morris of Dallas; three brothers, Herman Morris of Van Zandt County and Garvin Morris and Doyle Morris of Dallas; and two sisters, Miss Irma Morris and Miss Joelyn Morris, both of Dallas.
