Dallas R. Etue, 87, of Leipsic died 4:50 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born January 31, 1923 in Toledo to the late Robert and Cornelia (Perry) Etue. On January 5, 1974, he married his loving wife, Carol Schwaiger, who survives in Leipsic. They were married for over 30 years. He was a special uncle to his wife's nieces and nephews. Mr. Etue retired in 1985 from the supply and maintenance division of The Toledo Public Schools. He was a WWII Army Veteran of the European Theater. He served with an Anti Tank Battalion attached to the 104th Infantry Division First Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart as a result of enemy action on February 28, 1945 in Germany. He was a member of St. Clement Church, Toledo and St. Mary's Church, Leipsic. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 606 in Toledo. He enjoyed long walks with his faithful dogs, Bandit and Ginger. Dallas was a thoughtful and caring person. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, Leipsic with Fr. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo with military rites by Toledo VFW Post 606. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.
