Blackfoot, Idaho -- Funeral services were conducted March 17 for Theodore Stecklein, 76, a native of Ellis, who died March 14 at the Binham County Nursing Home, Blackfoot. Burial was in Grove (Idaho) City Cemetery.

He was born on July 4, 1906 in Ellis, the son of Cornelius and Dorothy (Walshshmidt) Stecklien.

He married Philomena Dechant on May 25, 1925; she died Dec. 9, 1968. He married Elizabeth Ann Heide on April 25, 1970 at WaKenney.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge, the Farm Bureau, and the state board of the Potato Growers of Idaho.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, Riverton, Idaho; two sons, Elmer, Pingree, Idaho, and LaVerelle, Riverton; one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Alice Mae) Tauscher, Sun Lakes, Ariz.; two stepsons, Arnold Edward Heide, Abilene, and Robert Joe Heide, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. John (Lena) Gerber, Ellis, and Mrs. Pauline Brungardt, Brush, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Arnold Heide of Abilene, Kansas and Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Dreher of Hays attended the funeral.
