Dr. Wilson Beam, Osteopath Here 50 Years, Dies
Dr. Wilson Beam, 89, an osteopathic physician in Easton for nearly 50 years, died yesterday afternoon in Easton Hospital.
Dr. Beam, whose home was at 60 North Third Street, retired from active practice about a year ago. His health had been failing for two years. He was taken to the hospital on Oct. 13.
Born at Odenweldertown, now West Easton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Katherine Heldmore Beam. He attended the elementary schools and the high school in this city.

One of the pioneer osteopathetic physicians in the Lehigh Valley, Dr. Beam was graduated in 1902 from the S.S.Still Osteopathic College, Des Moines, Iowa.

He opened his offices the same year at the Norton building on the southwest corner of Second and Northampton Streets in Easton. For the last 45 years of his practice, his offices were at the North Third Street address.

Dr. Beam was a member of First Methodist Church, the National Osteopathic Association, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Association and the Lehigh Valley Osteopathic Society.
His wife, the former Louisa Treloar, formerly of Phillipsburg, died in 1939. Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Violet B. Sargent, also an osteopathic physician, at home, one grandddaughter, Mrs. Louise Berkley, of Green Ridge, Pa; one great-grandson, and four brothers, Oscar, of Salt Lake City; Dr. Paul F. Beam, a dentist, and Jacob Beam, both of Easton, and Sherman, of New Lisbon, NJ.

Rites for Dr. Beam
Funeral services for Dr. Wilson Beam, 89, of 60 North Third Street, a retired osteopathic physician, were held this morning at the Shillinger funeral home. Dr. Beam, who practiced in Easton for nearly 50 years, died Wednesday at Easton Hospital.

The Rev. Carl R. Hammerly, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiated at the rites. Interment was in Easton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. Fern Osmun, Dr. Herman Beam and Bernard and Earl Roecker.
