Aged Citizen Died

NATHAN THOMAS COX, age 76, died at his home 1 ½ miles southeast of Gainesville, Thursday morning after an illness of several months. Mr. Cox was born November 12, 1847 in Missouri and was married in that state to Miss SUSANNAH VIRGINIA MINNICK on March 20, 1874. In 1892 they came to Texas, settling in the Spring Creek community in Cooke County.

Mr. Cox was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South since 1873 and served as a steward in his church.

He is survived by his wife and three children, J. D. COX of Chicago, Ill., L. J. COX and Mrs. DORA BUGG of Gainesville. (has initials A. L. handwritten by these names) Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Whaley Memorial Methodist Church conducted by Rev. M. A. STOUT of Bailey, Texas, and Rev. MINOR BOUNDS of the church. Interment in Fairview cemetery directed by G. J. Carroll.
