Floyd, known as "Ross" to his family and friends, was born in Butler, PA. He was an outstanding athlete at Meadville High School in Pennsylvania, and his love for sports was with him throughout his life.

He was an avid golfer and bowler, bowling a 299 on May 4, 1995. Ross was a member of the SIRS 41 and a former Director of the Monterey Men's Bowling Association. He was a proud "Parade Dad" and marched along with his daughters and the Dance & Twirl Club of the Monterey Peninsula for many years.

Ross spent the majority of his life in Pacific Grove, CA before his move to Sonoma, CA in 2000. Before his retirement in 1989, he was the Produce Manager at Fairway Market.

Ross served his county during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a combat medic in which he was engaged in giving aid to his fellow soldiers while active ground combat was around. He served in Italy, the landing of Normandy and the battle of the Bulge as well as other major campaigns.

For his courage under fire, Ross was awarded the following medals: Bronze Star Good Conduct Meritorious Unit Citation American Campaign European African Middle Eastern Campaign with 3 bronze service stars WWII Victory Army of Occupation with Germany clasp Combat Medical Badge 1st Award Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII Ross was Honorable Discharged at Camp Carson CO 11 24 1945.

Surviving him is his wife of 36 years, Patricia, and their two daughters Ronda Ross Leen (her husband Terry Leen) and Raelynn Ross. His two granddaughters Jessica & Emilie Leen also survive him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private internment will be at the Veterans Memorial Park, Sonoma. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel & Mission Cremation Service, 525 W. Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.
