Mr. Scott died Sunday Morning in a Rusk nursing home. He was born Aug.3, 1901 in Anderson county to Samuel William and Lou Reid Scott. He resided in Rusk for 24 years, formerly of Wichita Falls. He was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. He retired in 1966 from Wichita Falls State Hospital after 16 years of service. He was also a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Bertie Scott, Rusk; one son, Emmett Scott, Jr., Jacksonville; three daughters: Sunshine Largent, Rusk; Lawanda Smith and Janie Parks, both of Wichita Falls; one sister, Myrtle Goff, Round Rock; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildern; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
