Death of Mrs. Abskinas
Mrs. Abskinas, one of the pioneer Blackfoot Indian women of the west died at the High River hospital on Monday, July 27th after a brief illness, from general peritonitis, at the age of 54 years. She was the daughter of the late Chief Crowfoot of the tribe of Blackfeet Indians, whose reserve is situate near Gleichen and with her husband and family have always lived in High River. The deceased was a superior type of Indian woman and was a good wife and mother to her husband and three children who deeply mourn her death. The funeral took place on Wednesday, July 29, to the High River cemetery.
