Mildred Reed Carter Egger, 94, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at her residence. She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Monroe County to the late Lucas J. and Zula Tubb Carter. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and she was a graduate of Hatley High School. She married Elbert Clinton Egger in 1938, who later preceded her in death in 1961. She was a homemaker and worked for Amory Garment Co., Wilson's Mfg. and Glenn Mfg. She was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. An avid gardener, she enjoyed flowers and working in the yard. She enjoyed quilting and she was well known for her caramel cakes. Her family was special to her and she enjoyed spending time with them.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Elder Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Troy, Delray, Trenton and Willard Carter.

Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.
