The 1860 census shows Alexander Yates lived in Gentry County, (now Worth County) Missouri. He is also recorded in records as having purchased 120 acres of land there on 11/18/1855. However, the 1870 census shows him in Worth County. In 1863 Alexander and Easter deeded land to their son Andrew on 3/7/1863 in Worth County. On 11/3/1871 he sold 20 acres for $400.00 in Worth County. The 1880 census shows him in Yell County. This and the land sales records for Worth County, Missouri prove that Alexander moved to Yell County to live with his son Andrew after the Civil War, and did not come with Andrew's family during the war as previously believed.
