Beverly A. Summers, 78, of Crook, died April 20, 2010, in Sidney, Neb. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at United Church of Crook, with the Rev. Dave Tyree officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
She was born June 13, 1931, in Sterling to Dean S. and Elinor (Kester) Brown. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1949.
On Sept. 28, 1952, she married Carl E. Summers in Sterling.
Before marriage, she worked at the telephone office in Denver and Sterling.
Mrs. Summers was a member of the Crook Women's Club, Crook Alpha Omega Women's Club, was a 4-H leader for 15 years and member of the Beverly Summers Kelly Community Women's Club.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers. The family participated in the Great Western Beef Expo with exhibits for many years.
Mrs. Summers is survived by her husband, Carl E. Summers of Crook; son, David Summers and wife Glenda of Craig and their children, Bradley, Ashley and Cory; son, Doug Summers and wife Jennifer of Crook and their children, Colby, Lane, Teague, Caytlynn and Kash; son, Randell Summers and wife Stephanie of Crook and their son, Kent; sister, Virginia Boyes of Greeley; brother, Kenneth Brown of Beaverton, Ore.; and special friend, Theresa Ommen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Elinor Brown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County 4-H.
