Susan Helme Terry, the oldest living member of the Mt Sinai Congregational Church died on Sunday after a long illness.
Mrs Terry was born 88 years ago, the daughter of the late William and Angeline Davis Hopkins and united with the Mt Sinai Congregational Church, Dec 2, 1866.
In 1859 she was married to Timothy Helme, who died in 1890. In December, 1894, she married I Case Terry, who died several years ago.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of Geo P Helme, Miller Place, with whom she lived, on Tuesday. Rev Frank Voorhees officiated. Interment was in the Sea View Cemetery, Mt Sinai.
She is survived by two sons, by her first marriage, Arthur H Helme of Miller Place and Cornelius H Helme of Terryville, also several grandchildren.
