Born in Georgia and the daughter of John Chapman/Chatman Aubrey/Aubry and Mary Ann Harris, both of whom were native Alabamans. The Aubrey family tree has been traced back to Charlemagne, aka William the Conqueror and until migrating to America, was of genteel and quasi-royal English society. Therefore, if the research is correct, she was the descendant of one of the most powerful and influential rulers in the history of the earth, something that undoubtedly was unknown to her.

Martha was the wife of Charles C. Crawley of Morgan County, Georgia.

The 1870 U.S. Census shows the family as living in Arkansas. It also verifies that Charles was born in Georgia. The following family members are recorded as living in the home at the time of the census:
Charles Crawley M 40 Georgia
Martha J Crawley F 31 Georgia
Mary A E Crawley F 15 Alabama
George H Crawley M 13 Alabama
Fannie O Crawley F 11 Louisiana
Temple J Crawley M 9 Arkansas
Nancy A Crawley F 7 Arkansas
John C Crawley M 3 Texas
This census records shows the family migrated from Georgia to Alabama, to Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and then back to Arkansas.

Martha was the mother of the following:
Mary Ann Elizabeth Crawley Lofland 10/1/1854 – 10/12/1932
(m. Jonathan Cruse Lofland 5/29/1849-10/19/1925)
George Hughes/Hugh Crawley 9/13/1856 – 2/9/1936
(m. Lucinda Martha Yates 6/12/1861 - 11/24/1907)
(m. Allie _____ )
Frances Victoria "Fannie" Crawley 1/23/1857 – 6/22/1945
(m. John Warren Weems 10/5/1858 - 2/18/1938)
Temple J. "Tempie" Crawley 12/?/1860 – aft. 1920
(m. Joseph Soloman Lofland 2/6/1854 - 12/19/1941)

Levicia Ellen "Ellen" Crawley 3/9/1874 – 1/8/1961
(m. Thomas Marion Montgomery 9/9/1873 - 12/24/1961)
Charles William "Charlie" Crawley 12/3/1876 – 1/30/1952
(m. Lula H. Goodman 3/28/1884 - 8/31/1928)
Ida Belle Crawley 7/28/1879 – 5/28/1882

Around 1910, Martha moved to Texas with her daughter Betty Lofland as well as some other Yell County, Arkansas families. She is buried close to Betty and Betty's husband, John Lofland.

Martha is found in the 1920 living with her son, George Hugh Crawley in Childress County, Texas. Also living in the home are his son Rueben/Rupert Crawley and daughter Ada (Vada) Crawley.

Martha died of influenza (flu) complicated by old age. I suspect she also had pneumonia as most flu deaths in older people turn to pneumonia. Her death certificate stated she had lived in Memphis, Texas for 15 years which could possibly put her migration date from Arkansas to Texas as being in 1910 or 1911.
