Mrs. W.C. McCombs floated down the Mississippi to Texas when she was nine years old.
The family located on a farm 10 miles north of Graham where she lived until she married her husband. The couple moved to a farm between Graham and Newcastle. In 1915, the couple moved to Graham to live.
Mrs. McCombs kept a flower garden and turnip garden. She read her Bible daily. Mrs. McCombs enjoyed the quince tree that was south of her home. She was a member of the Baptist Church since 1905.
Mrs. W.C. McCombs, 100, was a longtime member of the Baptist Church.
Survived by one daughter - Mrs. Carl Thompson; one son - Winston Earl McCombs; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
