Anne Yvonne Arnold, 71, of 4634 Shen Lake Drive, Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1932, in Zebulon, N.C., and was a daughter of the late D.R. "Coley" and Annie Debnam Arnold.
She attended Women's College University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and graduated in 1954. She taught for 25 years in Fairfax County Public Schools. She moved to Harrisonburg in 1973 and served on the board of Harrisonburg-Rockingham SPCA for several years.
She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Roscoe and June Arnold of Wendell, N.C., and Thurston and Melba Arnold of New Bern, N.C.; her devoted friend, Mary L. Schell; several nieces and nephews; her beloved pet, Missy; and she was loved and will be remembered by a multitude of friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg with Dr. Carl Swanson officiating. Friends will be received following the service. Interment will follow at a later date in Zebulon, N.C.
