Al James "Pepper" Millikan, 82, of Marion, died Jan. 18, 2002 at his home. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and earned a Purple Heart for his service in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary K. Millikan of Marion; two sons, James "Clem" Millikan of Eddyville and Willie "Dubby" Millikan of Export, Pa.; seven daughters, Elissa A. Fulton of Mayor, Ariz., Kay Jacobs of Frances, Brenda Millikan, Rita Lynch, Patricia Sisco, Donna Herron, and Dana Berry, all of Marion; two brothers, Orlin Millikan of Marion and Ed Millikan of Michigan; five sisters, Sally Tabor of Marion, Mary Butry, Lea Winegar, And Anna Icle, all of Missouri, and Clara Belle Green of Wisconsin; twenty grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant child; three great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister. His parents were Carrol and Iva Millikan.

Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Jacobs, Rev. Robert Phillips, Rev. David Winders, and Rev. Roger Holloman officiated. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
